DirEdit 1.4
DirEdit application can be used to text-edit the filenames of a directory in Windows. The filenames become editable in a text field.
This way, batch renaming files becomes very easy, because you can copy, paste replace (parts of the) filenames. The files will only actually be renamed when the ‘Rename files’ button is clicked.
Here are some key features of “DirEdit”:
· Use a file filter (with * and ? as wildcards) to select only the files in a directory that you want to rename
· Replace all occurrence of a string with another string (optional case sensitivity)
· Append a string to the beginning or end of each filename
· Delete first or last n characters of each filename
· Choice of including or excluding the extensions in the editable list of file names
· Allows copying text from other programs (such as an episode list of a tv-series) into DirEdit
