DirEdit can be used to -edit the filenames of a directory in . The filenames become editable in a field.

This way, batch renaming becomes very easy, because you can copy, paste replace (parts of the) filenames. The will only actually be renamed when the ‘Rename ’ button is clicked.DirEdit screenshot 1

Here are some key features of “DirEdit”:

· Use a file filter (with * ? as wildcards) to select only the in a directory you want to rename
· Replace all occurrence of a string with another string (optional case sensitivity)
· Append a string to the beginning or end of each filename
· Delete first or last n characters of each filename
· Choice of including or excluding the extensions in the editable list of file names
· Allows copying from other programs (such as an episode list of a tv-series) into DirEdit
