Traffic Shaper XP is a complete bandwidth solution for IP based networks. It provides administrators traffic shaping flow control capabilities, including automated components for allocation provision.

After installing the product on any gateway or server, access is gained to all streams being used by the . Each stream can be controlled using a combination of prioritization, guaranteed service levels speed limiting. The classification will allow full control over all types of data such as games, video, VoIP, e-mail.

Architecture
The product consists of a core processor within the IP stack performs low level bandwidth services like traffic monitoring speed limiting. Incoming packets are inspected queued based on class. The data is later processed by user-defined automated systems before being returned to the operating for normal processing.

Deployment
For larger networks, a single point of installation gives adminstrators centralized control of resource allocation, providing greater flexibility over client-side solutions.

The server runs on the gateway computer controls all user traffic between the intranet. No client software or configuration is needed except for the application which can be installed on any machine for remote of the server.

Router-Only Networks
The product can also be deployed in server-free mode which is suitable for networks use a hardware modem or router instead of a gateway computer. All traffic is processed by a thin client application spreads bandwidth evenly across active clients.

In the diagram on the left, each client receives 33% of total speed. When one of the clients finishes using the resource the remaining two computers are given 50% each.

Here are some key features of “Bandwidth Controller Personal Edition”:

· Layer 3 bandwidth
· TCP/IP stream limiting prioritization
· Distributed mode for client-only networks
· Traffic monitoring
· Remote
· Deep Packet Inspection
· Guaranteed rate provision
· speeds from 56 kbps to 2,400 Mbps
· Wireless support
· Up to 2,000 concurrent users

Limitations:

· Users (concurrent): 1
· Throughput: 3,687 kb/s
· Rules: 5
· Layer 3 Protocols: TCP
· Addresses: 10
· adapters: 3

What’s New in This Release:

· Fixed server lockup when maximum number of statistics were reached (1000).
· Changed traffic window so inter-LAN connections are displayed. In previous versions they were only shown when there was a rule covered the traffic stream.
· Removed address range 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255 from the list of private address ranges. The private address ranges are used by the product when detecting LAN-facing -facing adapters after installation. Even though the 10.x.x.x range is technically a private IP address space, it is used by many cable companies to provide public IP addresses to users. The fix prevents WAN adapter from being falsely detected as LAN.
· Fixed local remote port columns not being displayed in the traffic window.
